How can I tell if I have the American version or the UK version?

RE: UK Version?
Click "Help" - "about RootsMagic". If you have the UK version it will give the co.uk web address.
You can also click on "Support" which will take you to either the US or UK support page depending on which version you have. Alternatively look on the box to see if it says "UK Version". If you downloaded it then look at the site. If it was from a .com address then it is the US version. If it was from a .co.uk address then it is the UK version. |

RE: UK Version?
Thank you, I do have the .co.uk address, sorry I didn't notice that, but, I think that I might have the American Spell Checker, as when I typed in the word centre I got the red line underneath it, but not when I typed in center.
I can't remember where I downloaded it from, but I did buy my licence from S & N. Is there an easy way to get my spell check in UK English? Margaret |

RE: UK Version?
Make sure you have the latest update (4.0.3.0) as there was an issue with earlier versions.

RE: UK Version?
How strange. My version of RM doesn't even have a US spell checker available.
Try the following: 1 - Click "Tools" - "Spell check" 2 - Click "Begin spell check" 3 - Click "Options" 4 - Click the "Language" tab 5 - Select the UK spell check. |

(25-06-2009 04:22)DrRoots Wrote: How strange. My version of RM doesn't even have a US spell checker available. I had exactly the same problem. I upgraded from RM4.0.1.1 to 4.0.2.1 and then to 4.0.3.0 However, even with 4.0.2.1 the word colour was underlined but if I then typed in "color" this was accepted. I uninstalled RM entirely from my computer and reinstalled everything again. Same result. I again uninstalled everything and installed the latest version from the S & N RootsMagic site. Same result - "colour" was underlined. I've now followed the above instructions from DrRoots and this appears to have solved the problem for which I'm very grateful. |

RE: UK Version?
I've only just realised that was the case for me too. I checked using the instructions given by DrRoots, and found that "English UK" wasn't ticked. I too did not have the US checker
, but the "custom" was (I have added a couple of words).Mine now display the words correctly. ![]() Thanks. |

RE: UK Version?
Hello
Sorry to persist but when I start my RootsMagic, the banner shown on startup says UK Edition but when I follow your instructions and enter Help/about RootsMagic, the banner states RootsMagic, com. What one do I believe Incidentally, I downloaded update to v 4.0.3.0 from the UK site Regards IanS
