Merging Fact Types
I recently imported a GEDCOM that had a Fact Type of "1841 Census" in it. I'd like to change it to the standard "Census". I know I can do it by editing each occurrence for each individual, but is there a way of simply merging one Fact Type into another?

RE: Merging Fact Types
"Lists" - "Fact type list" - "Edit" might do the trick.

RE: Merging Fact Types
Nah, tried that a few days ago. it just alters the fields of that particular Fact Type, it doesn't merge two Fact Types together.

RE: Merging Fact Types
Maybe you could back a few stages prior to the merge.
Try importing the GEDCOM (pre-merged) into a new database and changing the the fact type from 1841 census to census then try merging it with your database (pre-merged)? Obviously this won't work if the database to be merged already contained both census and 1841 census facts. If that is not possible then you will have to do it all manually. |
