Disappearing Details on Individual Summary

Disappearing Details on Individual Summary
After a struggle (I'm no good with constructing sentences!) I managed to make up the following fact type - [Person] registered the death of [desc]< [Date]>. - which seems to work fine in narrative reports and the family group sheet, however when I tried to run off an Individual Summary report all the details of birth, death, marriage etc. had disappeared, they came back when I delete my fact type.

Have I done something really wrong or is this some kind of blip in the programme?

Margaret

RE: Disappearing Details on Individual Summary
I have tried to recreate your problem but everything appears to be OK for me. Perhaps you could specify all of the options in the "Edit fact type" for your custom fact. Maybe that will give us some clues.

I have also noticed "disappearing details" in the Individual summary.

In my case it is where I have used the "witness" option to add census details to a couple's chuildren, etc., or for any other trype of witness.

I created a new role for the Census and used the following sentence:

[ThisPerson] appeared in the census in the household of [couple] < [Date]>< [PlaceDetails]>< [Place]>. (I have used [person] instead of [couple] where more appropriate).

The fact and details appear in the Family Group Sheet and the Narrative Report with the appropriate source, but not in the Individual Summary, although it does appear in the Individual Summary for the person(s) where it was originally entered.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

RE: Disappearing Details on Individual Summary
I am still not able to recreate the problems. Obviously the "Sentence" does not display in the "Individual summary" as it is not a narrative style report, but I still get the fact listed.

Perhaps you could provide a step-by-step list of steps and options you chose to reach the stage you are at?

RE: Disappearing Details on Individual Summary

Sorry, I realise I missed a bit out

Example - I add a Census (Family) fact to a couple, add the date, place, etc., then add the source and source details.

The couple have children, so I click the SHARE button, add the names and the role I have created and the Census fact then appears on each child's view with all the details as entered for the couple, so all is virtually the same except that the fact has a "shared" symbol beside it.

The problem is that although this fact is shown for each child in the Narrative report and the Family Group Sheet, it is absent on the Individual Summaries for the children.

All other facts entered for each child are there, but not the shared facts, although the fact does, or course, appear on both parents Individual summary.

This does not appear tro be specific to any particular fact or only to "Family" facts. It is the same in the case of, say, a relative such as a brother or sister, or nephew etc., that is in the database, but residing with the couple (or person) at the time of the fact. It is the same for other facts such as Wills, where there are witnesses to share the fact.

If the shared fact appears in other reports, it seems odd that it is absent in the Induividual Summary.

OK, I follow you now. So the issue is that shared facts do not appear on individual summary reports rather than the sentence structures causing the issues?

Yes, that is the problem. Afraid I forgot to say that it was shared facts I was referring to when I sent the first message.

The result is that if I have a child that never marries and remains at home with the parents I could have a Birth fact and a Death fact with 3 or 4 Cenus facts in between, but all that appears on the summary are the Birth and Death facts.

RE: Disappearing Details on Individual Summary
I have recently heard that this is a known issue and is being looked into.
